NRSA charged to probe accident causes

The Bono Regional Police Commander DCOP Godfred Owusu Boateng has admonished the National Road Safety Authority to dig deep into causes of road accidents to reduce carnages.

According to him, there a lot of contributory factors to accident which needs to be identified through deep investigations.

Speaking today at Berekum during the launch of the Bono Regional Arrive Alive campaign, the police commander recounted with worry the increase of accidents in the country.

DCOP Godfred Owusu Boateng said rankings among countries in the world puts Ghana on a bad state as the canker keeps increasing.

He believes, the Road Safety Authority must go beyond their usual taken of measurement at accident scene and investigate the mental state of drivers as well as their formal state before the occurrence. “it is time National Road Safety Authority moved from mere measurement taking to thorough investigation of accident causes”.

He again noted, road traffic regulations must be adhered to by all stakeholders to reduce road accidents
