The District Chief Executive of Tain joined Tain/Banda 2021 Retirees on the occasion of Ghana Education Service Retirees Day Celebration Ceremony held at Pentecost Church -Nsawkaw yesterday.
The retirees extended an invitation to the respected Hon Dr Lucy Acheampong, the District Chief Executive for Tain during a ceremony to mark this year’s Retirees Day Celebration.
Speaking under a colorful short ceremony, the DCE expressed her profound gratitude for such wonderful programme to help appreciate the priceless contributions these Retirees offered to serve humanity in their active years in the public service. That; “This joy stems not just from the fact that I am a senior citizen myself, but because the role of the teacher is enormous. Undoubtedly, teachers produce the human resource, the most valuable assets for national building”.

She emphasized that, “Teaching is the profession upon which all other professions depend” The DCE further commended the retirees for spending almost their entire working life empowering our children and youth to be productive citizens. She mentioned to reinterate that , “such singular conduct is real patriotism exhibited and must be recommended”
She finally admonished them to live meaningful lives after retirement to best translate their rich life time experiences to positively influence the society. The issue of ill health associated with old age should be embraced with healthy lifestyle rudiments devoid of a fashion that could further deteriorate their health. The DCE thanked the organisers for such fruitful programme; and gave them assurance for her readiness to open up her good offices on their behalf in the District.
The Party Executives led by Chairman Atta Bakaa Gausu were also present at the programme.
On other stories, the DCE early in the morning joined an Orientation program organised under auspices of Tain Office of National Service Secretariat for Service Personnel.
The DCE took the trouble to acknowledge the Service Personnel for their acceptance to willfully do a mandatory one-year employment programme at Tain. She said, “the essence of National Service Scheme is to provide newly qualified graduates the platform to have exposure on job, in both public and private sectors, as part of a civil responsibility to the State”. That, “it is also among other objectives promote cultural integration and diffusion; and thus national unity since greater percentage of Personnel are posted in areas far from home, where they don’t only learn the way of life of the indigenous people but share theirs. This ultimately strengthens the bonds of common citizenship among Ghanaians”. The DCE advised the Service Personnel to put their best foot forward to win trust of the various programs outlined by the government to create jobs for the teeming youth in the country as well as expanding entrepreneurial modules designed to meet the demands of young graduates- for it is however obvious that the public sector cannot absorb all the job seeker”.
Again, She admonished them to continuously scan the business environment to identify a lucrative business for possible investment as they negotiate their path or new milestone into the unknown future very soon.
The District Director of NSS- Tain Branch, Mr. Tua-Barima Opong Sakossah finally thanked the DCE for honouring the invitation to the programme.
