As part of the party’s efforts to support the Gbi Traditional Area to give a befitting funeral rites to the late Togbega Gabusu VI, the leadership of the National Democratic Congress has donated some items to the Traditional Council and the committee in charge of the preparations for the funeral. The items include:
1. 10 bags of rice
2. 20 packs of soft drinks
3. 2 cartons of castle bridge
4. 2 cartons of wine
5. 50 packs of bottled water
6. 2 big bottles of whisky
7. One (1) Cow.
Present to do the donation were the Volta Regional executives led by the Chairman, Hon. Henry Ametefe, Hon. Dela Sowah, MP for the Kpando Constituency, Hohoe Constituency and branch executives and other party supporters.
Presenting the donation, the Volta Regional Chairman, Hon. Henry Ametefe, stated that the items were coming from the Former President John Dramani Mahama and the entire NDC party for the committee to use in receiving visitors. He also indicated that, it is likely the former President, John Dramani Mahama and the party leadership will be attending the final funeral rites.
Togbe Keh the XIV, who recieved the items on behalf of the Gbi Traditional council and the funeral committee, thanked the NDC party and his Excellency, the former President, John Dramani Mahama for the show of comradeship in this trying moments of the Gbi Traditional area. He indicated that the former President John Dramani Mahama was one individual he can attest to that he never neglected the late Paramount Chief, Togbega Gabusu VI at no point. He assured the party of adequate preparations by the Traditional Council to receive the former president during the final funeral rites.
The Regional Chairman thanked all party comrades and those who supported this worthy cause.
May the soul of our revered Paramount Chief rest in perfect peace.
