The opposition National Democratic Congress in the Dormaa West District have alleged of a partisan spending of the MP’s share of the Common Fund.
In a press release jointly signed by the Communication Officer and the Constituency Secretary, which has been sighted by Masemtv.com, they alleged that the newly approved District Chief Executive has clandestinely released a whooping amount of the MP’s Common Fund to the former NPP Member of Parliament.
According to the statement, this is a ”total rape of our limited resources and called on Nananom, the Muslim Community, the Christian Community, our Hon Assembly Members, opinion groups and leaders to avert their minds to this unpatriotic acts being perpetuated by the DCE”.

For Immediate Release.
DORMAA WEST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY ENGAGING IN PARTISAN EXPENDITURE OF OUR COMMON FUND
Our attention has been drawn to a clandestine move by the newly appointed and confirmed District Chief Executive for Dormaa West, Hon. Oppong Francis (a.k.a Jaajo) to release the MP’s share of the Common Fund for the Fourth Quarter of the year 2020 to Hon. Ali Maiga Halidu who happens to be the Former Member of Parliament for Dormaa West Constituency.
We will like to state on record, that the Dormaa West District Assembly has already in the year 2021, given an amount of about GH ¢70,000 to the former MP, Hon. Ali Maiga at the time he was no longer a Member of Parliament for Dormaa West. All attempts by the good people of Dormaa West to stop this wasteful spending of our Common Fund proved futile since power was at play.
To our utmost surprise, the information we have received in respect of the fact that an amount of about GH¢ 80,000, which were transferred into the accounts of the Dormaa West District Assembly is to be given to the Former MP for unfathomable reasons remain a mystery. So one is tempted to ask if a Former Member of Parliament can still enjoy monies meant for the Office of a sitting Member of Parliament while in opposition, how come Hon. Vincent Oppong Asamoah was denied the MP’s share of the Common Fund representing the last two Quarters of 2016 when he lost the seat? Why is the Dormaa West District Assembly behaving like a father Christmas (a Santa clause who gives without any cause).
While other measures are being put in place to avoid this total rape of our limited resources, we will like to call on Nananom, the Muslim community, the Christian Community, our Hon Assembly Members, opinion groups and leaders to avert their minds to this unpatriotic acts being perpetuated by the DCE for Dormaa West, Hon. Oppong Francis ( Jaajo) and his ever serving master, Hon. Ali Maiga Halidu whose tenure as Member of Parliament brought no development to Dormaa West, rather stagnation, pandemonium and division.
We will like to state without any equivocation that should this huge amount of money be given to Hon. Ali Maiga for things only he and his cohorts can attest to, then we in the NDC will NOT allow the incumbent and hard-working Member of Parliament for Dormaa West, Hon Vincent Oppong Asamoah to continue and complete the hand full projects started by his predecessor since he ( Hon. Ali Maiga ) remains the spending officer of the MP’s share of the common fund in Dormaa West.
To the District Chief Executive, Hon Oppong Francis, we will like to advise him to stop pressing the self-distraction button. He should not start confirming the fear of the good people of Dormaa West that he will be remote-controlled by certain elements within the Constituency to frustrate the activities of our hard-working Member of Parliament.
