The Member of Parliament for Techiman North; Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has launched a programme in her constituency dabbed “Operation Light-Up”. The programme is geared to install and maintain over 300 street lights across the Techiman North Constituency to increase visibility during night.
The law maker indicated to Masemtvgh that the programme is a direct response to the widespread request by the constituents to provide street lights in their various vicinities. The MP further explained that darkness has engulfed many streets and areas in the constituency creating a safe haven for criminals to snatch hand bags and other valuable items from innocent constituents during night hours.
Operation Light-Up will see the maintenance of faulty street bulbs and installation of brand new ones where necessary. The MP says she is doing this to demonstrate leadership to the District Assembly and the central government to follow. She has therefore called upon her constituents to identify faulty bulbs and dark places within their residential areas for a swift response from her team on the grounds.
