The ruler of Dormaa Kingdom, Osaagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr Agyemang Badu II has vowed to protect the forest reserve on Dormaa lands from illegal mining activities to the extent of killing perpetrators who illegally mine in the reserve.
According to the Dormaa Hene, the activities of the galamsey operators are destroying the forest reserve at Dormaa Akwamu and has raged war against them.
He said, he would defend the land to the extent of killing perpetrators who illegally mine in the forest and would not stay aloof for few people to destroy the property for the masses in Dormaa.
He continued that, the government should amend the clause by which the state receives only five to seven person of gold royalties from the big mining companies as he thinks it is too meagre.
