It is embarrassing for NPP to organise a conference in a region they have no dev’t – Bono East NDC

The Regional Secretariat of the main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress, have taken a swipe on the ruling New Patriotic Party for ”neglecting the Bono East Region” in terms of development.

In a press release by the Regional Secretary of the NDC in the Bono East Region, Mr Shamsudeen Mohammed Ali bemoaned the continous act of the governing NPP to deliberately delay the region of its fair share of development, citing a number of projects that were initiated by the erstwhile Mahama administration which have been left to rot at their various levels of completion when the Akufo-Addo Government took over in 2017.

In responding to the NPP Regional Delegates’ conference slated for October 6, at the Atebubu, the NDC Regional Secretary described it as a forum for the NPP to recycle their failed promises and to throw dust into the eyes of the ordinary Ghanaian who has been a victim of hardship due to the mismanagement of the economy by the NPP.

”Let me state without any equivocation that Ghanaians are very objective and discerning and can therefore see through the lines.

It is embarrassing, disheartening and gross disrespect to Ghanaians to see the NPP organized a delegate conference in the Region where they have little or nothing to show in terms of major development” he added.

THE UPCOMING NEEDLESS NPP BONO EAST REGIONAL DELEGATES CONFERENCE, THE RECKLESSNESS AND ARROGANCE OF THE APPOINTEES OF THE NPP GOVERNMENT IN THE REGION: A RECIPE FOR RETROGRESSION

It has become very critical and important for us to throw more light on the dubious activities of the NPP government and its incompetence which is fast reversing the gains chocked in the Bono East Region and making the Region unattractive and unsafe for the people. It is important to also bring to your attention the level of extravagance and show of impunity being exhibited by the President and his appointees both in the region and the nation at large.

We are all aware of the NPP upcoming Bono East Regional delegates conference slated for 6th of October, 2021 in Atebubu which undoubtedly will be characterized by the usual lies and unfulfilling promises they keep recycling to Ghanaians in an attempt to throw dust into our eyes. Let me state without any equivocation that Ghanaians are very objective and discerning and can therefore see through the lines.

It is embarrassing, disheartening and gross disrespect to Ghanaians to see the NPP organized a delegate conference in the Region where they have little or nothing to show in terms of major development and improving the lives of the people in the Region despite being the Government since Independence which has borrowed more than any other Government. It is an open secret that development in the region is seriously bleeding and yawning for mercy under this clueless government and that should have been the focus of the NPP and not this needless Regional Delegates Conference.

It is sad to reveal that the NPP has given all of us a clear indication that the four-year mandate given to them by Ghanaians most especially in the Bono East Region is a wrong move and Ghanaians including die hard supporters of NPP have regretted the dangerous move they took. This is a party in government that cannot boast of any monumental achievement in the Region which has contributed to their woeful defeat in the 2020 elections. The pain in the defeat manifested in the speech of the President Akuffo Addo when he visited the region and recounted his displeasure on the outcome of the 2020 election and how the NPP failed in the region. The President forgot that “what you sow is what you reap” (Garbage in, Garbage out). His performace in terms of infrastructural development was abysmal hence the outcome of the election in the region.

But let us take this opportunity to remind the NPP of some vital areas of the economy that their government must vigorously tackle in order to alleviate the suffering of the people in the Bono East Region:

*ROADS*

For the past four years of this government, Bono East Region has not benefited from the so-called development trumpeted by the Government in terms of roads, even with the declaration of the 2020 as the year of roads. May be the construction of roads happens only at the Jubilee House where the president and the Vice president reside.

Unfortunately those that are under construction and which were handed over to them for completion has also incompetently been abandoned.
For instance, Atebubu Kwame Danso road, Kajeji kojokrom Road, Atebubu Kumfia-Fakwasi-Druman kese-Asekye Road,Prang Kintampo Road Nkoranza Jema-Tamfiano section, Kintampo to New Longoro among many others were all abandoned by this clueless government.

*EDUCATION*

For the past four years of this government, education in the Region has wriggle its teeth. Under this government, education has not seen any improvement but continue to deteriorate. The poorly implemented FSHS has rather worsen the plight of Ghanaians rather than improving it as it’s being trumpeted by this 419 Government. Basic education has not seen any infrastructural development and increase in enrollment.

The secondary education seems to suffer same. We were privileged to benefit from the Community Day SHSs constructed by the Previous Mahama Administration. 6 out of the 8 allocated to the region are completed and operational, the site of the remaining 2 have been taken over by weeds and reptiles at Donkro Nkwanta in the Nkoranza South Municipality and Anyima in the Kintampo South District.

The tertiary education in the Region established by the NDC has not seen any improvement. Our nurses and teacher trainees are wallowing in the house without jobs, some being deliberately stampeded by Licensure exam failure.
It is important to note that, even the venue of this so called delegate conference which is a 1,500 capacity Auditorium at Atebubu College of education is one of the numerous achievements of the previous Mahama Administration in the education sector.

*HEALTH*

This government has abysmally performed in the health sector in the Region. The government cannot boast of any major health facility it has provided to the good people of Bono East.
The Previous NDC Mahama Administration has many health Facilities to its credit such as Polyclinic at Nkoranza South, tens of CHPS Compounds across the region including a Midwifery Training school at Yeji

*SECURITY*

Another serious aspect in the region which has been left unattended to and our dear citizens are suffering as a result of insecurity. The poor level of security in the Region, which has created fear and panic is another area of concern to the people in the region. For the past few months a lot of precious souls have lost their lives in the Region because of poor security architecture and management.
The region has become a breeding grounds for arm robbery, the increase number of armed robbery cases in the region is another growing concern which needs to be tackled vigorously.

It is crystal clear that, the Nana Addo/Bawumiah Government has failed the good people of Bono East in all aspect of our socio-economic lives.

There is an unprecedented level of insecurity, unrepentant high level of corruption by the Government and its Appointees, the extravagant life style and arrogance exhibited by Government Appointees are but few bitter lessons the good people of the region have learnt for the entire period that, this inept and clueless Nana Addo/Bawumiah Government has stayed in power. It is therefore evidently clear that, the government has failed to live up to expectation and Ghanaians should liaise their boots to kick them out of office come December 2024. This is the only surest way Bono East will see the kind of development needed to accelerate the socio-economic gains that has stalled since the NDC left power in 2016.

Hoping to come back with a video evidence presser of the super incompetency exhibited by this clueless government in the Bono East in the coming days.
