The Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress in the Sunyani West Constituency has assured all defected members with Team BOT of an official party cards.
On Sunday, September 26, Mr Bernard Oduro Takyi, the former independent candidate in the 2020 Parliamentary elections, together with his deluge of supporters and followers, thronged to the Kwatire – Adantia Middle School to publicly announce their defection from the ruling New Patriotic Party to the National Democratic Congress.
The over thousand of supporters and followers of Team BOT who happily thronged to the occasion requested for the NDC party cards amidst dancing and celebration.
According to these defected members, they have resolved to be with the NDC and that giving them party cards will be in order, a sign that shows that they are now NDC members.
Responding to the call by these huge defected members, the Constituency Chairman for Sunyani West, Mr Johnson Asiedu readily assured them of taking up the requisite measures to register each one of them at their branches to be given a party card at the appropriate time.
The Constituency Chairman explained that the NDC have put down the necessary measures to open up for another registration of its members and that all defected members will be captured when the time is due.
”I have heard the intense call by the defected members for party cards: but the truth of the matter is that since last year, all party cards have expired. We are now going to re-register every member and in no time, either you go to the Constituency Secretary or the Constituency Secretary will send an information to the various branches after the party has issued out directives to begin with the registration exercise of all members. In this exercise, all members will be registered and a card given to each of them” he said.
Mr Johnson Nketiah, on behalf of his Executives, expressed appreciation to all the supporters and followers of Team BOT who have willingly defected to the NDC. The Chairman urged all of the members to work harder with everyone to ensure that they take the seat from the NPP in 2024.
