The Assembly members in the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly have endorsed the nomination of Mr Evans Kusi Boadum as the new Municipal Chief Executive for the Municipal Assembly.
At a general meeting by the Assembly members at the Assembly’s hall on Tuesday, September 28, more of the Assembly members voted to approve Mr Evans Kusi Boadum.
At the end of the voting exercise by the Assembly members and the government appointees on the nominee, thirty eight (38) members, representing 69.09% voted to confirm his nomination.
A whooping seventeen (17) members, representing 30.91% rejected the president’s nominee.
Mr Kusi Boadum narrowly escaped the burden of calling for a second election unlike his predecessor who failed to be approved by the Assembly in his first election in 2017 amidst heated tension and countless accusations.
Mr Evans Kusi Boadum now succeeds the immediate past MCE, Hon Martin Obeng at the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly.
Prior to his nomination, Mr Evans Kusi Boadum was the constituency chairman for the New Patriotic Party for the Sunyani West.
Mr Kusi Boadum has been the constituency chairman since 2014.
Mr Kusi Boadum in 2017, expressed interest to be nominated by the president as the then District Chief Executive for the Sunyani West but Hon Martin Obeng was subsequently nominated and approved.
