I was born green; mistakenly entered the house of the blue but I am back fully to my root – B. O. T.

The former independent Parliamentary Candidate in the Sunyani West Constituency for the 2020 Parliamentary Elections has described his years with the ruling New Patriotic Party as a ‘mistake’.

Mr Bernard Oduro Takyi in his speech on Sunyani, September 26, at the historic occasion of his outdooring by the opposition National Democratic Congress in the Sunyani West Constituency happily said ”I was born green; mistakenly entered the house of the Blue but I am back fully to my root as a Social Democrat – Green, White, Red and Black”.

According to Mr Bernard Oduro Takyi, there are two things that are contstant and inevitable in life; death and change. ”I have chosen change today before my death in the next 100 years because this change is needful and relevant for the development of sound democratic principles”.

Mr Bernard Oduro Takyi, he describes himself as a ‘democrat by conviction’ believes that in democracy, fairness and transparency are key.

Giving account of what happened after the 2020 General Election, Mr Bernard Oduro Takyi said two weeks after the election, having spoken to his inner spirit, decided to join the NDC. ”I willingly decided that if it is politics, i will join no other political party other than the National Democratic Congress” he said.

”The NDC does not treat the sons and daughters of lawyers, bankers, doctors, businessmen, engineers, pharmacists etc. as superior to the sons and daughters of the peasant farmers. The NDC is a home to everyone except the criminals and the promoters of ‘All Die Be Die’.

Having engaged with the ranks and file of the National Democratic Congress, i have come to the simple conclusion that the NDC is the party of choice for everyone, irrespective of your background.

The NDC is neither discriminatory on the grounds of gender, age, disability, family ties, financial background nor one’s level of education, Mr Bernard Oduro Takyi added.
