If The Private Sector Is The Engine Of Growth, Why Are We Killing The Private Sector?

His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has spoken on the struggling and collapsing businesses in Ghana today during his media engagement in the Ashanti Region as part of his Thank You tour.

Speaking on the new Mercury FM, His Excellency John Mahama asked, do we really believe that the private sector is the engine of growth? Looking at the amount of money spent to collapse banks, suffocate contractors , collapse radio stations, instead of pursuing them for the money owed etc .

NDC has consistently supported the private sector and we will do it again when we come to power. Help them to be on their feet and they will contribute in taxes, reduce unemployment and what have you . We will be the last party to collapse a business where we can help them to run .

Kumasi is a trade hub, that is why we took pain in giving them the infrastructures that they needed to enhance their businesses.

He concluded with thanks for the region and their contribution to the NDC for the outstanding performance in 2020.
