The elections will be won or lost at the polling stations – Mahama

The Former President and the Flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress in the 2020 Presidential Election has emphatically stated that the next General elections in the 2024 will either be won or lost at the polling stations.

Former President John Dramani Mahama made this statement on Tuesday, September 7, in his radio interview on a local base station, Akina 100.9 Fm in Techiman.

”We all recognize that Nana Akufo-Addo is our president. We have accepted; he is the recognized leader – we have accepted the Supreme Court”.

Mr Mahama continued that the National Democratic Congress have learnt the painful lessons that came with the 2020 General Elections.

”We learn lessons from whatever happens – we have also used 2020 General Elections to learn our lessons”.

Former President Mahama told the host of the program that the next General Election will be won or lost at the polling stations as the NDC will always insist on the right things to be done and certified before their polling agents sign to any document that will be brought before them.

”The elections will be won or lost at the polling stations; then the polling stations will be do or die. I have not said all die be die; it will be do or die. The right things must be done”.

”In 2024, the polling station is where we will win the election. We will neither wait to resort to the collation centre nor the Supreme Court to settle any misunderstanding. We will insist and do everything to at the polling stations and at the collation centres. We will do everything to ensure that the election is free, fair and transparent”.

Mr Mahama continued that ”we don’t intend to cheat the NPP in the next election; we do not want to cheat anyone and we do not also want anyone to cheat on us in the next election. Let there be free and fair in the election for Ghanaians to decide on who they want to be their leader” he added.
