Protect the proposed site for the campus – UENR VC to Nsoatre Traditional Council

The Nsoatre Area Traditional Council, led by the Acting President, Nana Baffour Gyinte Awuah has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Professor Elvis Asare-Bediako

Giving the purpose of the visit at a short meeting at the Council Chamber of the University, the Acting President of the Traditional Council, Nana Baffour Gyinte Awuah disclosed that their visit was to officially inform the Vice-Chancellor and the University Community that Nsoatreman has now enstooled a new Omanhene after long years of chieftaincy disputes. According to Nana Gyinte Awuah the disclosure was necessary since the University is a partner in the development of the Traditional Council.

In response to the visit, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Elvis Asare-Bediako thanked the team and also showed his joy over the new dawn of headship. He commended the Council for their resilient efforts used in solving those disputes for this positive result.

The Vice-Chancellor used the opportunity to re-assure the Traditional Council about the Government and the University’s commitment to establishing a proposed Campus sited at Nsoatre.

He however urged the chiefs to protect the proposed site for the campus to avoid encroachment. This he stressed will not help facilitate the growth of the campus.

The meeting was also used to deliberate on how the University and the Traditional Council will continually support each other for the sustainable development of both institutions.

Some of the management members of the University present were the Registrar, Solomon Panford, Esq., Director of Finance, Mr. Albert Banan Abdulai, CA; Director of Works, Ing. Christian Yeboah, and other administrative heads.
