Bawumia is bound to lead the NPP in 2024 – Sunyani East MP

The Member of Parliament for Sunyani East Constituency Hon. Akwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh has delivered an emphatic endorsement of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the next leader of the NPP and Ghana’s next President.

He explained, the complementary role of Dr Bawumia in the Akufo-Addo led administration, and his level of experience gave him a greater chance to lead the Party and break the tradition where governments were changed after every eight years in the fourth republic.

Hon Akwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh noted this at the Annual Delegates Conference organised by the Sunyani East Constituency under the supervision of the Regional Secretariat of the party.

The constituency delegates conference is in line with Article 7(27) of the NPP’s constitution and is a prelude to the party’s national delegates conference, where the constituency executives adopted various constituency reports.

He further stressed that, aside Dr Bawumia’s popularity, he has done a great job for government and party and considering what Dr Bawumia has done, it will not be difficulty for him to marshal his experiences to retain power for the party in 2024 presidential elections against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The Sunyani East lawmaker added that, President Akufo-Addo is determined to hand over power to another NPP regime, hence his unwavering commitment to working tirelessly at all times to make sure the party succeeds in governance and therefore making Dr Bawumia the flag bearer of the party is the only way to break the eight year cycle.

He opined that, Dr Bawumia has outperformed all vice presidents in the fourth republic, his visibility, vibrancy and dedication to digitizing the Ghanaian economy and operationalizing various initiatives has received admiration and goodwill from many Ghanaians.

He indicated that, the growing affection towards vice president Bawumia signifies he is bound to lead the party in 2024 and the party delegates cannot afford to block his ascendency to the throne of President.

Hon Akwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh used the occasion to appealed to Ghanaians to support the government in its effort at building the nation, adding that, the situation where people of the other political divide does not appreciate anything good about the ruling government and continue to paint it black is not the best for the country.
