MP cuts sod for roads construction amidst jubilation in Afram North

People living along the Kamalo to Sokpoe stretch of road could not hide their joy when the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Afram Plains North Constituency, Mrs Efua Krosbi Mensah cut sod for the construction of a 3km access road from Kamalo to Sokpoe as well as a 2km access road from Bruben to Flikpodome within the constituency.

The project awarded to Michael Opoku from Kumasi in the Ashanti Region is scheduled to be completed within a year, the Member of Parliament disclosed this during the sod cutting ceremony.

“This morning together with the Afram Plains North District Engineer, Mr Charles Braaku, I successfully cut sod for the construction of a 3km access road from Kamalo to Sokpoe as well as a 2km access road from Bruben to Flikpodome within the Afram Plains North Constituency,” the female legislator writes.

These access roads when completed, according to her, will boost economic activities between these communities and the Constituency at large.

“I am still committed to putting the government on it toes to construct the Ekye-Agordeke high road, as well as, the Donkorkrom township roads. I was really dissatisfied with the answers given by the Minister of Roads and Highways when he appeared in Parliament on 13th July, 2021 and I will continue to fight for our roads to be fixed, she further assured her constituents.

The female lawmaker said aside the aforementioned road projects, other roads would also be constructed in the constituency.

She reiterated her commitment to serving the people of the Afram Plains North constituency who gave her the mandate to serve them as Member of Parliament and assured them of doing her best for them to get their share of the national cake.

The MP said she is fulfilling her promises he made to the constituents which the evidence is there for all to see and appealed to the citizenry to renew their mandate come December7, 2024 general elections for her to able to continue her good works she is doing.

“We are still breaking barriers, building a future,” she stressed.

She appealed to the contractor to give employment to the locals during the construction period and challenged him to work within the stipulated time frame to allow free movement of vehicles and people in the communities.

The residents in an interview with Soireenewscom this expressed appreciation to the MP for the project and the numerous projects the community had benefited from under her administration.
