Rubbish the claim – Amenfi East NDC to residents

The National Democratic Congress in Wassa Amenfi East has refuted claims by some NPP party communicators and other supporters that the current member of parliament, Hon Nicholas Amankwah does not give NPP party in Wassa Akropong credit for the ongoing construction of Astroturf projects in the area.

The project in question were started in February, 2018 under the former NPP member of parliament Hon, Patrick Kwame Bogyako Saime prior to the NDC parliamentary seat takeover in December 2020 elections.

Meanwhile, responding to the accusations being circulated on social media platforms, the NDC communication officer in Amenfi East in an interview with New Day FM News on Monday, described the allegations as a “weak attempt to cast a slur on the good works being engineered by Honorable Nicholas Amankwah”

Thomas Dindiego insisted that the MP will not ‘steal’ projects executed by the New Patriotic Party in the area.

He added that, not only is the write-up by the accusers a compendium of deceit but also a reckless attempt to foment trouble in the peaceful constituency.

The NDC in Amenfi East in an interview entreats Waasa Amenfi East residents to rubbish the accusations with the utmost contempt it deserves.

Mr. Thomas Dindiego refuting the claims by the NPP stated unequivocally that the views of one Samuel Ayitey are entirely his and in no way reflect that of the MP, adding that, Samuel Ayitey is not a member of the Amenfi East NDC Communications Bureau.

Honorable Nicholas Amankwah, the NDC party says has not, on any occasion, take the credit for the ongoing construction of the Astroturf at Wassa Akropong” he said

Meanwhile, the communication officer assured that the MP, Honorable Nicholas Amankwah has taken a keen interest in all ongoing projects in the constituency, as will any well-meaning MP does.

Setting the record straight, the communication officer pointed out that for some time now works on the Wassa Akropong Astroturf have stalled, therefore, the MP contacted the contractor to find out what was causing the hiccup for him to see how best whatever challenge there is can be addressed.

The contractor in an attempt to complete the stalled project told the MP his outfit was working on a similar project and will resume work on the same project at Wassa Akropong once he was done.

Again, the contractor lamented that accommodation for his workers was also a challenge.

According to Mr. Thomas Dindiego, the MP therefore promised to provide accommodation for the contractor and his workers, a promise he subsequently honored.

The contractor and his team after meeting their plea from the current member of parliament returned to Amenfi East on Friday, July 23, 2021, around 10pm and were offered accommodation in a rented two-bedroom apartment, again at the instance of the MP.

He said, Honorable Nicholas Amankwah wishes to state that the Astroturf in Wassa Akropong, when completed, will not be used by either member of the NDC or NPP but by all people of Amenfi East, including when appropriate people from outside the constituency.

Therefore, he said, it will be instructive for everyone to support the efforts being made and do away with anything that will be a drawback to the project.
