President Akufo-Addo Should Forgive Bono Region For The Lost Of The Five Parliamentary Seats Under Kwame Baffoe Abronye Dc

Bono Region has been, over the years, the trailblazer in the NPP. Just after the 2016 elections, the Bono Region had ELEVEN(11 ) Parliamentary seats out of the Twelve(12) Constituencies with the exception of Banda Constituency.

Bono Region was an emblem of the iconic elephant family in so many respects. Bono was the yardstick for which many Regions were judged.

Today, traditional seats like Wenchi and Jaman South are at the hot mercy of the NDC because of the ineptitude and indiscipline conduct of Abronye DC.

The scene today is a far cry from what used to pertain to this bustling Region as far as the NPP was concerned.

For a while now, Bono Region has been home to internal wrangling, petty scuffles and chaos.

Today, Let me tackle on the formation of the Campaign team and campaign monies which were meant for the 2020 ELECTIONS.

In my next write up I will talk about the following

* The way and manner Abronye DC was going about abusing MDCE’S, the rank and file of the Party folks and threatening them that he has all the President Akufo-Addo’s appointment in his pocket and that anybody who jokes will be sacked from the New Patriotic Party

* The way and manner Abronye DC disrespected Traditional Authorities, Moslems and Pastors as well as Government appointees in the Region

* The way and manner fanfare campaign in convoy that angered the people was used by Abronye DC in the Bono Region

* The way and manner Abronye used intemperate words as campaign message to scare Electorates in the various Constituencies.

* Last but not least, the unproductive collaboration of Abronye and some Members of Parliament going into the 2020 elections.

1. *2020 BONO CAMPAIGN TEAM*

In the run up to the 2020 elections, a campaign team of 45 members was formed under the Chairmanship of Abronye DC . The team was made of about five(5) lawyers including lawyer Ansah, Lawyer Kwame Twumasi to mention but a few.

Another group was made of about Seven(7) Members of Parliament including Hon Kwasi Ameyaw-cheremeh(MP SunyaniEast), Hon Kwaku Agyemang manu MP DormaaCentral), Hon Yaw Afful( Former MP Jaman South) etc

The Sixteen(16) Regional Executives were also part of the team.

Unfortunately and very sad, the campaign team never met to decide on the strategies to prosecute the 2020 General Elections simply because Abronye said he is the governor of the New Patriotic Party in the Region and that he does not account to any person hence the campaign team was rendered a white elephant.

In the run up to the 2020 campaign, Abronye was untouchable and very arrogant and nobody could advise him on anything. He managed to have the support of some few Members of Parliament who could easily manipulate him to dance according to their tune. Unfortunately, some of these MPs lost their seats and others sailed through in difficulties.

*CAMPAIGN MONIES*

Abronye DC on frolic of his own decided to appropriate all the campaign monies according to his whims and caprices without the involvement of the collective decision by the campaign team.

Neither the campaign team members nor the Regional Executives knew how much was accrued for the 2020 elections. Abronye DC, the Jack of all trades…..

Abronye DC till date has succeeded in bringing total discomfort and disunity among the Regional Executives. There are now two major camps amongst the Regional Executives who do not see eyeball to eyeball. Abronye has no modicum of respect for his own members of the Regional Executives and some Constituency Executives.

Party monies that were with Abronye DC were spent lavishly and in a flamboyant manner. He claims the monies are through the *dint of his hard works* meanwhile he does not have farm, he is not a civil or public servant neither is he a businessman or entrepreneur.

Peace has been a scarce commodity for the Bono Region. Sanity is a long way away due to this opprobrious and tumultuous squabbling by Abronye DC in and amongst party leaders.

It is about time calm was made to dominate these worrying events. The leadership of the Party must come in to restore peace lest the party sinks into oblivion in a few years to come.

One cardinal thing I have learnt from my few years in this establishment is the fact that Abronye is too young and not mature as a Chairman to lead the good people of the Bono Region.

Abronye’s Camp is inevitable phenomena in Bono Region, and if is allowed to mar the ultimate goal of capturing our lost seats especially Wenchi the Busia’s Constituency and Jaman South, it will become very problematic.

I am appealing to His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana, the leadership of the NPP at the national level to, as a matter of urgency, see to the resolution of whatever impasse that has resulted in these battles and again to bring Abronye to book for his arrogant posture or *ask him to step aside*

Abronye’s Chairmanship is a total failure, incompetence, substandard and a liability rather than an asset to the New Patriotic Party.

The glamour that used to be associated with Bono Region has faded away and if steps are not taken to restore peace and harmony, posterity would not be kind to us all!
