The former Deputy Regional Youth Organizer for the National Democratic Congress in the then Brong Ahafo Region has stated that the NPP and their Government will fail in their machiavillian ploy to hook up the Member of Parliament for Asutifi South.
On July 30, 2021, Hon Collins Dauda, the Member of Parliament for Asutifi South and a Former Minister for Works and Housing under the erstwhile Mahama administration, together with four others, were charged with fifty-two counts for ”intentionally misapplying Public Property contrary to section 1(2) of the Public Property Act, 1977 (SMCD) 140.
According to Mr Owusu Nkrumah Ababio, Hon Collins Dauda is being witch hunt and being prosecuted for offenses he is obviously innocent of the act.
Mr Owusu Ababio stated that ”Hon Collins Dauda is a big oak tree in Ghanaian politics and that any attempt by the NPP to dent his hard earned reputation will fall flat”.
”Though the matter is currently before the court, the NPP have engaged their surrogate media houses to start spreading misleading publications aimed at courting public disaffection against the indefatigable Hon Collins Dauda. We took particular notice of a live interview with Hon E T Mensah on Metro TV hosted by Paul Adom Okyere. Shamefully, the interview saw Hon E T Mensah contradicting himself against documents that he personally signed when he was the Minister of the sector” Mr Owusu Ababio added.
”The question one would therefore ask is that, what necessated that hasty editorial if not for reasons of bad intend to crucify an innocent person – Mr Owusu Nkrumah Ababio asked.
The Former Deputy Regional Youth Organizer made these comments in his statement issued out on Tuesday, August 10, to expose the hidden intention of the NPP and their Government to ostensibly persecute Hon Collins Dauda in the public, using some rented media houses to cast a slur on the enviable reputation of the best Member of Parliament in Ghana.

Hon Collins Dauda is a big oak tree in Ghanaian politics and any attempt by the NPP to dent his hard earned reputation will fall flat.
Myself, a loyal son of the Ahafo land and many other proud sons and daughters, have noticed with disgust, the desperate attempt by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government to prosecute Hon Collins Dauda, MP for Asutifi North, for crimes that he is innocent of.
Even before the commencement of the supposedly legal processes of the case in court, they have engaged their surrogate media houses, to start spreading misleading publications aimed at courting public disaffection against the indefatigable Hon Collins Dauda. We took particular notice of a live interview with Hon E T Mensah on Metro TV hosted by Paul Adom Okyere. Shamefully, the interview saw Hon E T Mensah contradicting himself against the very documents that he personally signed when he was the Minister of the sector.
The question one would therefore ask is that, what necessated that hasty editorial if not for reasons of bad intend to crucify an innocent person?
We want to send a strong signal to the government through the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame, to leave Hon Collins Dauda alone. We are well aware that, over the past years, the NPP have made several attempts to unseat him but failed.
There were even incidences that they allegedly made assassination attempts to eliminate him and have free will to operate in the Ahafo Region. All these evil plans have failed.
This current move that they have initiated, will also fail to shame his enemies. Even the perpetrators of the Agyapa deal, PDS deal, AMERI deal, Australia Visa scandal, Kelni GVG deal and the latest, the botched Sputnik V vaccine brouhaha are still roaming freely and cooking more deals to rob the country of our scarce resources.
Why innocent Collins?
Isn’t it intriguing that, after Collins Dauda left government in 2016 and NPP took over in January 2017, it is now in their second term that they have discovered the supposed evidence sufficient to have him prosecuted? Does it not raise eye brows that, it took the government nearly five(5) years to initiate this prosecution?
Obviously, his prosecution is borne out of an unfinished agenda to persecute him at all cost.
Having realized the wicked, inhumane and devilish agenda of the NPP against our own, we, the youth of Ahafo Region, led by my able self, wish to reiterate our unflinching support for Hon Collins Dauda. We are ready to break and crush anything that will come our way to provide him with the needed support. He has dedicated his entire life to serving his people and this is the time that we will also stand by him. We simply cannot phantom how an MP, who was adjudged the best MP of the 7th parliament of Ghana, will soon become the soft target for persecution by this wicked government.
We also wish to call on the chiefs and people of Ahafo Region, to rise up and let us defend our dedicated servant.
Collins Dauda has not commited any crime and so, we should not sit down and allow the NPP with their evil intentions against him to prosper.
