Mr Eric Adjei, the Deputy Regional Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress in the Bono Region has asked why Ken Ofori-Atta and others, who are the brains behind the botched Sputnik V vaccines have been left off the hook.
For the past weeks, Ghanaians, including Civil Society Organizations have expressed their disappointment on the produrement breaches for COVID-19 vaccines between the Republic of Ghana and His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Dalmock Al Maktoum, a member of the ruling family of Dubai that led to the payment of a controvervial amount of gh₵16.3m for doses which were not supplied.
Though, there has been an internse call for the resignation of Mr Agyeman Manu for such botched deal, Mr Eric Adjei is of the view that Mr Agyeman Manu could not be the only culprit and that the others must equally be made to face the law.
In a statement issued out by Mr Eric Adjei on Tuesday, August 10, he expressed worry as to why Ken Ofori-Atta and his cronics are not being attacked in this corrupt deal and urged the public to equally call for his head.

WHY ATTACK KWAKU AGYEMANG MANU LEAVING KEN OFORI-ATTA AND HIS CRONIES WHO SERVED THE CHIEF ARCHITECTS BEHIND THE DEAL
At any material point in time corruption must be condemned in its entirety and must not be countenance by any, irrespective of the caliber of persons involved. This bow down to say, Kwaku Agyemang Manu can never be exculpated from liability likewise, those who aided the commission of the crime.
President Akuffo Addo has surrounded himself with oxpeckers, perching all corners of ministries, state agencies and superintending over juicy deals to make feasible, their aim of becoming the wealthiest family in the country. To achieve this, they lurk in the shadows sheltering behind innocent people and used them as the “cat’s paw” to complete their dirty and sinister agenda. Same was done to Boakye Agyarko and now its Kwaku Agyemang Manu.
Any little chance mean to them, an avenue to enrich themselves at the expense of the category 4% government worker.
This deal was an international agreement and by virtue of that it should have followed the provisions in article 181 of the constitution. Is the finance minister telling us that he had no knowledge whether the deal went through Parliamentary modification as at when he was paying the money? We are not kids to believe this.
Again, Ken Ofori-Atta indicated at Appendix 4E of the mid year budget review that 50% of the total amount has been paid for the supply of the Sputnik vaccine. He issued payment despite the flaws associated with the deal without thinking of its adverse effects on the economy. Such cruelty from a so called responsible minister!
In holding Kwaku Agyemang Manu to his deeds let us not forget to add Ken Ofori-Atta together with the other oxpeckers whose aim is to always lurk in the shadows to perpetrate their corrupt agenda by using innocent people.
