A reliable source within the NPP Bono Regional Executives has disclosed to Masemtvonline.com, of the sacking of the Bono Regional Chairman in the President’s two day working tour in the region.
The source say the sacking of Abronye, the NPP Bono Regional Chairman from the President’s entourage was imminent due to the abysmal performance of the Bono Region under the leadership of Kwame Baffoe Abronye in the 2020 General Elections.
A Member of the Regional Executive, who disclosed this information to Masemtvonline.com indicated that ”there has been a growing deep seated animosity between Abronye and the presidency after Abronye failed on his agenda ”12/12” despite the huge resources given out to him” the source discloses.
According to this Regional Executive, there was a rancour in the evening of Monday, August 9, when President Akufo-Addo arrived in Sunyani, where Abronye and some Regional and Government appointees came around to welcome the president.
Upon Abronye introducing himself to the President as the Regional Chairman, Nana Addo, who was visibly furious at the sight of Abronye, gave a stern warning to him not to follow his entourage, as a punishment for his abysmal performance in the 2020 General Elections.
It was clearly noticed, that when President Akufo-Addo had a brief interaction with the Sunyani Traditional Council, Abronye, the Regional Chairman of the NPP was absent.
An insider report gathered suggest that Abronye, after his sacking from the President’s entourage, has appealed to a top NPP former government appointee in the region, to lead him to President Akufo-Addo this evening at 10:00pm, to apologise to the president to allow him to be part of his entourage on Wednesday.
President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, August 10, began his two day tour of the Bono Region with the commissioning of a maternity ward at the Sunyani Municipal Hospital, that was initiated and built by the late and Former Municipal Chief Executive of the Sunyani Municipal Assembly in 2016.
