The Bono East Regional House of Chiefs today, 6th July, 2021 had their 2021 maiden general meeting at the Bamiri Community Center in Techiman, the regional capital of the Bono East Region.
During the address by the president of Bono East Regional House of Chiefs, also Yeji Manhene, Pimampim Yaw Kagbrese V said, pending cases in court have become a big challenge to the house.
Nana said, at the moment, there are 14 judicial cases transferred from the former Brong Ahafo House of Chiefs and added to the number 9, bringing the total number to 23 pending cases.
Nana explained that, these cases are pending for adjudication because our house has still not gotten it’s own counsel.
Pimampim Yaw Kagbrese V said, the house has submitted the name of Mr Emmanuel Achempong for the approval by the Attorney General Department to become counsel of Bono East Regional House of Chiefs and expressed hope that when the approval is given, judicial sittings will commence as soon as possible.
In addition, Pimampim Yaw Kagbrese V expressed his profound gratitude to the Regional Security Council for prioritizing security and peace for citizens in the region.
He said, the Security Council has really demonstrated that Security and peace are essential commodities for development of every region.
Pimampim Yaw Kagbrese V extended his profound gratitude to Nananom of the house for collaborating with the Regional Coordinating Council in maintaining peace in their respective Traditional Areas.
In responding to getting approval for council or lawyer, Bono East Regional Minister Hon Kwasi Adu Gyan said, he will contact Office of the Attorney General Department immediately.
Finally, Hon Kwasi Adu Gyan pleaded with the house to help the Regional Coordinating Council in terms of accommodation for security personnel because the Region is expecting more security personnel to strengthen the security in Bono East Region.
