The Chief Communications Director at the Ghana Water Company Limited has attributed the shortage of water supply to parts of the Greater Accra Region to the recent intermittent power supply, known as dumsor.
Mr Stanley Martey revealed this on Thursday, June 24, 2021 during a brief interview session with Bernard Avle on the Citi Fm Breakfast Show.
According to Mr Stanley Martey, the recently intermittent power outages has resulted in causing damage to three of their four pumps.
”Three of our four pumps have been damaged as a result of the recent intermittent power supply. We are now left with one pump which cannot be used to supply water to all our customers across the various areas”.
When asked by the host, Mr Bernard Avle, the day supply of water will be restored to all the affected communities, the Chief Communication Director said the company is working on the pumps.
”We have started working on these pumps but i cannot give you the exact day that the maintenance works will be completed. Yesterday, the team was able to work on one of the three pumps but it subsequently broke down and so i cannot give a definate day for the team to complete the maintenance exercise” he said.
