The Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency and the Minority Ranking Member on the Foreign Affairs Committee in Parliament has described the sudden disappearance of the Finance Minister as ”disappointing”.
Mr Okudzeta Ablakwa, has filed an urgent question on the Floor of Parliament seeking responses from the Minister of Finance, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta on the amount of money spent on the President’s recent three days tour in Europe.
On Wednesday, the Minister for Defense was at the Floor of Parliament to respond to one of the two questions filed by the North Tongu Member of Parliament on the air safety of the Presidential Jet and to find out the state of it.
In reaponse to this question, the Minister for Defense, Hon Dominic Nitiwul stated amongst other things that the President couldn’t have travelled with the Preaidential Jet because the President cannot bath in the Presidential Jet.
According to the Parliamentary Order paper for Thursday, June 17, the Minister for Finance was to address the House of Parliament on the amount of money spent on the presidential tour to Europe.
But what seems to be surprising, the Minister for Finance, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta has pleaded with Parliament to buy time in order to respond to the question that has been filed by the Member of Parliament for North Tongu.
Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa, who was not pleased with this decision, took to his facebook page to convey his displeasure about his disappointment.

Very surprising that Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is asking Parliament for more time to respond to my urgent question on the full cost of President Akufo-Addo’s recent luxury travels to France, Belgium and South Africa.
The question had been advertised in the Provisional Order Paper for a response today.
This is terribly disappointing after his Ministry has had more than a two-week notice to prepare an answer for Parliament and the people of Ghana.
Sad day for accountability and good governance.
