Bono East Forestry Director inspects trees planted in schools

On Friday, 11th June, 2021, Ministry of lands and Natural resources through Forestry commission of Ghana planted 5m trees arose the country.

In Bono East Region, 300,000 trees were planted for which some of these seedlings were given out to schools to be planted

This morning, the Regional Director for Forestry Commission, Madam Amoh Ntim Lucy visited some schools to inspect whether the seedlings given out to the schools were planted .

Some schools she visited include St paul’s R/C JHS, Anomatuoa M/A basic school, Akumfi Ameyaw SHS, Abrafi SHS, Aworowa APS school ,Aworowa R/C primary all in Techiman the Regional capital of Bono East Region..

Speaking with Madam Amoah Ntim Lucy after the inspection, she said she is highly impressed with how headmasters have encouraged students to plant the trees and also how they are protecting the trees for future generations.

She added that, trees are vital. As the biggest plants on the planet, they give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilise the soil and give life to the world’s wildlife. They also provide us with the materials for tools and shelter and must be protected.

Additionally, Madam Amoah Ntim Lucy pleaded with Ghanaians especially those in Bono East Region who haven’t planted their trees yet to visit the office for seedlings because this is free.

Moreover, she urged Ghanaians to support the Government to bring back our Forest to life.
