Oti Region: Real Miracle wins maiden Freedom Championship Edition

Miracle defeated Breakers(3:2) in the final of the freedom Championship cup hosted at Kpassa on second May 2021.

The tournament which was organized by Prophet Freedom powered by Christ sports collections saw sixteen teams (16) from eleven (11) communities competing for one thousand five hundred cedis(1,500gh) as the ground price whilst thousand (1,000) cedis goes to the first runners up as the third team takes away medals

Jumbo young stars, Real miracle, Liberty FC, Shinning stars, AB Ajax, Abunyanya Young Stars, Surgicals FC, Soccer Millonies, Heroes, Eka Soccer Academy, Lakpor FC, Level Stars, Central FC, Believers FC and Royal FC are the participants of the tournament

Real miracle and breakers soccer academy seal through to finals after unbeatable games from Group D and C as they both conceded two (2) goals from group stage

The division two side tear apart their rivals in 3:2 penalties shoot out at the kpasstech sports complex

Kpassa base teams ensured that the main trophy remained in the capital after eliminating the various teams surrounding the district and beyond in group stages and semi-final.

Braimah Michael was adjudged the best goal keeper as Dana, Manaf Yagata and Sagne Amos won the top scorers with four (4) goals for a golden medals meanwhile Real Miracle head coach Abdulia Hamza took home the best coach of the tournament.

This final, played in front of over 600 fans at the Kpasstech Stadium, dragged into extra-time after Breakers controlled the match from start to finish but poor marksmanship combined with some resolute defending by Miracle ensured there were no goals in normal time.

Real Miracle, on the other hand, appeared a bit nervous and could hardly express themselves as they have done so well in their previous matches at this tournament.

After 60 minutes of action, Breakers had four attempts at goal, while the opponents could boast of one.

Real Miracle began to get back into the game after the halt-time as Breakers continued to dictate the pace.

Miracle Sagne Amos came close to breaking the deadlock in the 5th minute of the extra time only for his diving header from inside the box to be cuddled by goalkeeper Aminu Adams( Jiwa)

In extra-time, both sides had chances to break the deadlock, Manaf Yagata and Sagne Amos for Miracle, while Breakers Asante Pius saw his long-range shot after 70 minutes go wide of the mark.

Real Miracle has won their first ever major trophy in the Oti region lead by Abdulai Hamza as their manager.
