Women in Awatey Traditional Area within the North Dayi District of the Volta region were the latest beneficiaries of Hon. Joycelyn Tetteh’s “NYORNUWO MITSO” .
A community outreach initiative by Hon. Member of Parliament for North Dayi Constituency, Joycelyn Tetteh, “NYORNUWO MITSO” seeks to educate and empower women across all traditional areas within the North Dayi District of the Volta region. It is a comprehensive initiative, consisting of among others, financial aid and literacy programs, reproductive health and rights, particularly menstrual hygiene and teenage pregnancy.
This weekend Hon. Joycelyn Tetteh engaged various women associations in Awatey Traditional area. Today’s event saw the lawmaker give seed capital to all women associations as well as education on financial literacy.
As indicated by Hon. Joycelyn Tetteh in the launch of “NYORNUWO MITSO”, all nine (9) Traditional areas in North Dayi District will benefit from this initiative. Awatey joins Sabadu Traditional area as areas benefited thus far with remaining areas namely; Wusuta, Vakpo, Anfoega, Tsrukpe, Botoku, Tsoxor and Aveme.
The women expressed gratitude to their lawmaker for her continuous support in ensuring women of North Dayi District attain economic independence.
