The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Bono East Region led by Hon. Unas Owusu successfully ended a two (2)- day retreat in Techiman, Bono East Region.This special retreat was attended by the Miss Barbara Asamoah( Deputy General Secretary of NDC), Hon Elvis Afriyie Ankrah(National Director of Elections), Lawyer Adu Yeboah(NEC/Election Directorate Member), Alhaji Haruna Rashid Ibrahim(National Director of Research), Former Deputy Chief of Staff(Kenneth Ujorinji), All MPs across the 8 Constituencies that the NDC won, All Former MPs in the remaining 3 Constituencies, All Council of Elders in the region, Leaders of Cadres in the region, Council of Elders, Regional Executive Committee members, Former MMDCEs, Regional Election Director and Deputy, Regional Research Director and Deputy, Regional IT Director and Deputy, 5 Constituency Executive Committee members across the 11 Constituencies in the region and other Leading Members of the party.
The program seeks to Review, Restructure, Re-Strategize and Consolidate our gains for 2024.
All the speakers acknowledged the contributions made by various structures of the party in the region from branch to the region and congratulated the Bono East Regional NDC for their splendid performance in the 2020 Elections for delivering 8 out of the 11 Parliamentary Seats to the NDC whiles battling the Techiman South Seat at the court.
Election has now become scientific and therefore, we have to be scientifically oriented to be able to achieve our desired target.
The MPs pledged their support to ensuring that, the Bono East NDC achieves it’s target of delivering 11 Seats to the NDC, the MPs were also encouraged to have meetings regularly with the Constituency Executives Committees.
Also, key issues on the various reports from all the 11 Constituencies were thoroughly discussed and a Committee set up to look into some critical issues emanating from the 3 Constituencies we lost in the Parliamentary and NKoranza North which is the only Constituency where we lost in the Presidential elections, voting trend in the region from previous years to the present were also looked at and positive suggestions made to that effect.
The Bono East Parliamentary Caucus Leader and MP for Pru East Dr Kwabena Donkor also highlighted on why the Minority in Parliament approves some President’s Nominees for various Ministerial Positions.
The leadership of the party has once again expressed their profound gratitude to all Comrades who avail themselves for the important exercise and is optimistic that, all that was discussed, would be put into practice at our respective Constituencies and branches towards 2024 victory.
