The Member Of Parliament for NKoranza North Hon Joseph K. Mensah supported the Green Ghana Exercise which falls today the 11th June 2021. A day set aside by the Government through the Forestry Commission to plant some 5 million of trees such as Ceiba, Mahogany, Gmelina, Cassia, Mango, Coco nut, Cashew, among others across the country to preserve the environment.
The Member of Parliament who was not able to Grace the occasion due to his busy schedules in Parliament supported the Non Formal Education Division in the NKoranza North, an organization under the Ministry of Education which Collaborated the Forestry Commission to plant more of the trees in some selected Communities within the Constituency supported the organization in transporting the over 100 seedlings from the NKoranza South Municipal office of the Forestry Commission to these Communities such as Pinihin, Domeaba, Asekye, Bonte etc
In addition the Hon Member Of Parliament also provided some assorted drinks, water and Biscuits to refresh the participants who took part in the Exercise this morning.
Presenting the items on behalf of the MP to the Assembly man elect for Pinihin, the District Coordinator for Non Formal Education Division, NKoranza North Mr Abubakari Sulemana advised members of the Community to protect and take good care of the trees by regularly watering them and making sure animals and fire do not destroy them.
Other than that, the purpose for which huge sums of money was spent to raise these seedlings and a day set aside for the project will be defeated.
