Former Deputy Minister of Education calls for forensic audit on 7.7bn spent on Free SHS

The Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Adutwum last Sunday during a press conference said, Government has so far spent 7.7bn on free Senior High School since 2017 to 2020 but former Deputy minister of Education is calling for forensic audit.

Hon Alex Kyeremeh said, Ghanaians want to know the amount of money spent on feeding, Infrastructurs etc since the Implementation of free senior high school.

The Former Deputy Minister of Education who doubled as former Member of Parliament for Techiman North District Hon Alex kofi Kyeremeh explained that, the NDC are not an enemies or not against the policy of free Senior High School introduced by the current Government in 2017.

Hon Alex Kyeremeh yesterday on Ghana Akwantuo hosted by Mr Philip said, education is an area which needs attention and all hands must be put on deck because of it broadness.

He said, to run a successful education program in Ghana, you need well experienced people to bring ideas on board which will help quality Education in the country.

Hon Alex Kyeremeh moreover said, education must not be politicsed so the Government must pay attention to Ghanaians opinion particularly on free senior high school policy

Again, Hon Alex kofi Kyeremeh explained that, one major challenge of free Senior High School is source of funding

Finally, Hon Alex Kyeremeh called on the Minister of Education Dr Yaw Adutwum to immediately call stakeholders consultation on proper measures to manage the free senior high school policy because future Doctors, presidents, Accountants etc are prepared at the Senior high school level.
