Sir John goes home today

The community of Sakora Wonoo is in a state of mourning as the mortal remains of the Former CEO of Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie is laid in state.

The funeral rites of the politician popularly known as Sir John started this morning at the Sakora Wonoo Junior High School, in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region where residents of the community have lined up this morning to file past his remains.

Dignitaries including the President, Nana Akufo-Addo are expected to be at the occasion to pay their last respects later in the day.

The mortal remains of the affable former Chief Executive of the Forestry Commission will later be put to rest at the Sakora Wonoo family cemetery.

The late Sir John is said to have died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Wednesday, July 1, 2020 after a bout with Covid-19.
