The organisational department of NDC in the Ahafo Region has taken notice of the dastardly act visited on the Municipal Electoral Commission’s office on Sunday morning, 23rd May 2021.
We commiserate with the electoral commission and all stakeholders on the effect and inconvenience the fire outbreak that razed their entire office down might have caused.
As we count our collective loss as a Nation and constituency as a result of this fire outbreak, we should not lose sight of the bravery of our gallant
men and women in uniform and would thus, use this
opportunity to congratulate the security services especially the Municipal Fire Command for their
quick response and hours of fire battle which mitigated the impact and prevented its spread to
other facilities close by.
As we await the official report from the security services on the occurrence, the apprehension and possible prosecution of same for this heinous crime, we
wish to bring to the attention of the security services an intelligence information gathered, that could aid the ongoing investigations;
- A close source indicates that the assigned security personnel were not on duty at the time of
the incident. - It is also an undeniable fact that the act was perpetuated by an unknown person who broke into the building through the rear door.
- Also, exhibits of a match box, pinch bar, door handles etc were found at the crime scene which
makes it clearer the cause of the fire was neither
an electrical fault nor power fluctuation but a clear case of arson.
We are by this release trusting the security services to come out with an uncompromised and accurate report as to the actual cause of fire at the Commission’s office which will clear any form of suspicion in the minds of the citizenry and to
protect the integrity of the service.
We also wish to tell our support base to remain calm as we trust the security services to handle this situation professionally.
Long live Ghana.
Long live NDC.
