Reference to the statement made on the floor of Parliament by the Hon. Dafeamekpor Etse Rockson Nelson the Member of Parliament for South Dayi on the condition of madam Elizabeth Asantewaa, the young school girl victim of the kulungugu bombing who has been neglected by the state for decades after loosing her limb and sustaining several injuries in that attack on the then President Dr.Kwame Nkrumah.
Yet again one of the historical evidences of the treachery and thuggery of the UP forebears brought to
light.
But most importantly how, a State can abandon its citizen who has suffered from such a national catastrophe amounts to nothing but sheer pettiness and pitiful sadism!
It is in the same vain that successive govts have abandon victims such as the May 9th stadium disaster, the Circle June 3rd flood and fire disaster among others because such incident didn’t happen under their regime and the support scheme for these disaster victims become coterminous with the tenure of the govt’s who instituted those support schemes for the victims…such degree of pettiness with great cost to the dignity of the Ghanaian life.
Congrats to Hon Dafeamekpor Etse Rockson Nelson for such a brilliant intervention on the floor, it is our hope that Mr. Speaker acts swiftly and orders an immediate reparation package for the old woman, good enough to sustain her and compensate her for the lost time.
