The two times constituency chairman for the National Democratic Congress, the NDC in the Kintampo North Constituency has joined his maker.
The late former chairman for the Kintampo North Constituency of the National Democratic Congress, after the creation of the Bono East Region, contested for the regional chairmanship position of the NDC and lost in the maiden regional delegates conference which was held on May 25, 2019.
Mr George Markus Montcho, who was born on August 28, 1968 was an active member of the NDC in Kumasi even before he relocated to begin his sawmill business in Kintampo.
Mr George Markus Montcho, who was affectionately known by members of the party as George Wood, made an indelible achievement even before becoming the chairman of the party.
The contributions and donations, coupled with his selfless and dedication to party activities, led to the NDC making a huge gains anytime elections, both parliament and presidential elections were conducted.
Aside making financial contributions to the party, one of the things that will be remembered was how he dedicated his Kia truck, for the activities of the party at all times until the vehicle completely broke down beyond repairs.
Mr George Markus Montcho was taken a short ill and subsequently died on February 1, 2021.
The final funeral rite of the late former chairman was held on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
