Former First Lady, Lordina Dramani Mahama, has through her organisation, the Lordina Foundation, come to the aid of a 10-year old girl abandoned by her family after a motorbike accident.
The young girl was knocked down by a motor cyclist in September 2020 and has since been undergoing treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. The family, according to the hospital authorities, has since abandoned the girl.
The Lordina Foundation presented toiletries, food items and an undisclosed sum of money towards the little girl’s medical bills and upkeep.
Board Secretary of the Lordina Foundation, Priscilla Santuo-Ocrah, after making the presentation, reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment towards supporting needy families especially children across the country. She reiterated that the Foundation would continue to monitor the girl’s progress and ensure that her hospital needs are met.
Representatives of the management and staff at the Accident and Emergency Centre of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital thanked the Foundation for the intervention.
