The Minister of Agriculture, Mr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, at the weekend, met with the various constituency executives in his home region, the Ashanti Region, to discuss with them of his intention to run for the NPP flagbearership bid.
In Mr Afriyie Akoto, the Agric Minister’s bid to become the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 General Elections, last Saturday, met with the Constituency Executives in the Ashanti Region to seek for their support ahead of the flagbearership race.
A reliable sources within his team revealed a shocking amount of money Mr Owusu Afriyie Akoto spent in his three day schedules with these individual groups.
CAMPAIGN MESSAGE:
His Campaign Slogan would be Okumkum and promised them to use his ministry to distribute tractors and motorbikes to all Constituency Executives in the coming days.
According to undisclosed sources, Mr Afriyie Akoto is coming to succeed President Akufo-Addo on the basis that they have been friends for over 50yrs now.
”Today, he met Constituency Chairmen, 1st n 2nd Vice Chairmen as one batch and that will continue to Monday”
”Secretaries and Assistant Secretaries as another batch; Financial Secretaries and Treasurers would be the last batch for today and the meeting would continue to Monday” the source disclosed.
Investigations revealed that, Mr Afriyie Akoto allegedly gave out each Constituency Chairman an amount of Ghc1,000 as transportation fare.
All Other Executives received Ghc 500 each as their supposed transportation fare.

16 Executives 47 Constituencies = 752 people.

This would be the amount spent by the time, he would be through with the meeting on the 3 days meeting by Monday.
