“Ghana’s democracy under president Nana Akufo-Addo is at the verge of collapsing and there is the need for every meaningful Ghanaian to speak out to ensure we rid off this political tyranny”.
According to the Bono Regional NDC Communications Officer, President Akufo-Addo has over the years, engaged in things that have jeopardized the hard earned integrity of the state, which is not good for the prospects of the country in our future endeavors.
In an interview with Masemtvgh, the versatile communications officer and political analyst said “it will be recalled that, prior to the voter registration exercise, people were murdered in cold blood, some sustained series of injuries and others were miamed and disabled at the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election”.
The Bono NDC Regional Communications Officer continued that ”it is of no exception that the president and his team of sycophants and hypocrites like the Christian Council of Ghana, National Peace Council, so called independent voices like Aglow and other CSOs like Occupy Ghana, turned to be like a cat watching over soap”.
He further stated that, the most heart breaking of all, is the appointment of the Director of Public Relations of the Jean Mensah led Electoral Commission, Mrs. Sylvia Annoh, as Ghana’s Ambassador to Copenhagen, Denmark.
Mr Charles Akowuah opined to the fact that, the Electoral Commission of Ghana is at the center of Ghana’s democracy and serves as the referee to all political parties that involve in election but “what happens if the referee seems to be a fun of one of the playing teams?”, he quizzed .
“To me, I leave that to the conscience of the well meaning Ghanaians to decide, whether there was fairness and transparency in the just ended elections when people have their parochial interest to serve”, he added.
He concluded by urging the government to, for once, consider the life of the poor and vulnerable, in case his actions and inactions cause any conflict, that lead to instability in the country.
